On January 1, 2016, US Shale Midstream Energy LLC, (USEM) – a midstream energy services company created in 2014 by two industry veterans – negotiated and closed the acquisition of Enterprise Products Partners’ (EPD) Rocky Mountain crude oil business.
Mercuria Energy Trading, Inc. (METI) purchased the commodity portion of the business, including crude oil purchase, sales and transport contracts and associated crude oil inventory.
Together, USEM and METI formed RMCO Holdings LLC to acquire Rocky Mountain Crude Oil LLC (RMCO) from Enterprise to own and operate the physical logistic assets (tractors, trailers, injection stations, etc.)
The transaction quickly positioned RMCO has a critical player in the midstream energy space operating throughout the Rockies. With a combination of leased and owned equipment, injection stations and terminals in North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado, the firm services large and small producers for virtually any crude oil logistics needs.
